Phase 2 Part 2

weight: 219lbs
days left: 9
today: 3.5mi
total: 170.5mi

so i'm thinking we'll call this Phase 2 Part 2, since it'll be a short goal.

i WILL lose the last 2lbs by Monday, October 4. i figure this will give me enough time to healthily lose weight and also get a lot of exercise in during Bucket 100.

motivations for this mini phase are mainly:

1. train for the Bucket 100 ride that is THIS WEEKEND!
2. gotta look good for the job recruiters. there is a job fair this friday and potential interviews too!

today was a good start. i didn't eat much and rode to work, where i stood for 8 hours. didn't ride back because it was raining, poor RJ got left out in the rain. dunno how tomorrow will go, i probably will sleep in and then head to work for another 8 or so hours of standing. we'll see.

oh yea, forgot to tell you, RJ got his new seat installed. apparently they were able to use the same post, so no added cost there. the seat is not as slick as i was hoping, but it looks good and maybe is a few ounces lighter. it's not set at the right hight though, i have to hunt down my wrenched (which disappeared along with my old pump) and get it raised. i also got him a new chain ($13.50) and cogs ($17.99), a hand pump ($19.80), a saddle bag ($10), a rear flashing LED light ($6), and picked up some essential tools ($28). labor was only $12 and i loved how i got 5% off the entire bill because i'm a member or wrcc, saved $10! now RJ is happy and i'm ready for a long, hopefully issue free ride.

Almost Success!

weight: 219lbs
days left: 0
today: 0mi
total: 167.0mi

Phase 2 was almost a success. i lost 8 pounds!!! i guess i couldn't push out those last 2 pounds this week, that would have been very hard. and i think the only reason i couldn't go all 10 was because i got a late and rough start.

pros about phase 2:
acai cleanse, i totally recommend it!
great weather and lots of riding
haven't been too hungry

cons about phase 2:
started late and ate too much in the beginning

yesterday was a busy day and i was not able to do any working out, but i didn't eat much either.
today was a reward day for me. but i do regret eating maybe a little too much. for dinner i had chicken tenders and fries at Steak-n-Shake, a frozen custard, and then a frappe mocha this evening. doesn't sound like too much, but i felt full.

tomorrow i will start a new phase and see how that goes!

Day 29

weight: 219lbs
days left: 2
today: 0mi
total: 167.0mi

blogging's been difficult lately, too busy to log on and type all this stuff up, but i have been doing well with weight lose and exercise. i'm so motivated, only 2 more pounds to go! i know it'll be hard to lose it in only 2 days, but i'm going to try my best!

tuesday stood on my feet at work for 3 hours and then went to upper body class, but otherwise i did not get any riding in. RJ's tires are too flat, i really have to take him in. and i will tomorrow because i got my new saddle in the mail today! i love the speed of shipping. the saddle looks awesome, i can't wait to try it out. today i got called into work, so i was not able to attend the Aerie FIT day at the corec, i was so upset. America Eagle's new line of fitness clothing sponsored a workout session with raffles and prized today, i so wanted to go. man! but instead i ran around like crazy at work for 7 hours, we were so busy! so i did get some exercise in.

however, i did not eat very well today, no matter how much i wanted to lose another pound. bad nina! i had slim fast for breakfast, one slice of pizza for lunch, but then i also got cheese fries and a brownie sundae while i was at work (hey, they were free and i always wanted to try them). i ended up not really liking the sundae, so i'm sure that'll help me avoid it in the future. but i'm still kinda afraid to step on the scale tomorrow morning, i'm so close to my goal and i just screwed up!

tomorrow looks like a busy day, i dunno if i'll get any workout or riding in. (i think i'll have to miss zumba :-( ) maybe i'll force myself to do some dumbbell exercises at home. i hope that food will be a lot better, i'm so close!

Day 27

weight: 220lbs
days left: 4
today: 3mi
total: 167.0mi

ok, so i haven't been able to blog this weekend, been so busy with funeral and work. but it was a great weekend on the weight-loss front. let's recap:

thursday i did go to zumba and lower-body. friday was crazy, had class and drove straight home for the wake. saturday was the funeral and then drove straight to work afterwards. i picked up some more hours of work on sunday, so i did a lot of standing and running around. i also did pretty well with food, never stuffed myself. and notice! another 2 pounds off!

today was great. didn't eat much. woke up late and only had a coffee for breakfast (i know i said i'll stay away from coffee, but i got very little sleep last night), a fiber-one for snack, 3 pieces of pizza for lunch, slim fast for dinner and 2 plums for late night snack. i went to core crunch class and then hopped on a stationary bike for 3 very hard and fast miles, since i didn't get to ride today.

the bucket100 bike ride is coming up, october 2-3. if you would like to donate to habitat for humanity and support me on this ride, please follow this link. click on "sponsor participant" and enter "Nina" to find me in the list. it's such an easy way to donate, it's done instantly and you don't have to worry about sending in checks on time. my goal is $250 and would love your support!

in order to prepare for this ride, i thought that i should finally get a new seat. i was able to find a pretty good looking one on amazon and used a gift card with free shipping, so it didn't cost me anything! and it should be here by friday. i can't wait! in case you wanted to know, i chose a Serfas Women's RX Bicycle Saddle for $39.99. do you know if i made a good choice? serfas sounds good, i had a bicycle computer made by them once. we'll see how it goes! however, i will need to head over to hodson's to pick out a saddle post, i have no idea what kind fits my bike and new saddle. RJ is too old to have the updated version of seat posts that are in style now. i just hope it won't been too expensive. but i'm looking forward to RJ's weight loss and added comfort, even if it's just a little bit.

well, only a few days left until first goal date! i am really motivated and really hope to lose those last 3lbs before friday. tomorrow i have work for 3 hours and then I WILL go to upper-body class. i will try my best to hop on my bike for a few miles. tomorrow's supposed to be hot and sunny, before the rain starts coming in for the rest of the week. can't waste it!
